The National Lottery has confirmed that the winner of last Friday's €29m EuroMillions jackpot has been in contact.
The contact came after a weekend of speculation about who the winner of the draw is.
No details of who the winner is, or where the ticket was purchased, have been revealed yet.
A Lottery spokesman said they want "to give the winner time and space to make arrangements and to let the news sink in."
It is the second Irish winner of the EuroMillions so far this year.
A syndicate from Dublin scooped €88.5m in January of this year.
