Sinn Féin’s Gerry Kelly has made a complaint to the PSNI after being assaulted in Belfast city centre last night.

A 21-year-old man was arrested by the PSNI following the incident and is being questioned.

Mr Kelly is believed to have sustained facial injuries following the assault in Gordon Street.

Mr Kelly said: "I have made a formal complaint to the PSNI after I was assaulted in Belfast city centre last night."
