Gardaí say it could be a few more days before formal identification is possible of those who died in a car crash in Co Waterford on Sunday.
Three men died when the car in which they were travelling was in collision with another car containing six people.
Two of the men have been named locally as Eamon Dixon from Abbeyside, Dungarvan, who was in his early 20s, and Michael 'Mikey' Tobin, from Old Parish, Co Waterford, who was in his 30s.
It is understood they were friends and both lived in Dungarvan.
The third person who died is understood to have been the owner of the car and was from Cork.
The condition of some of the six people injured in the collision remains critical.
A man and woman along with four children aged between six and 14 were taken to hospital.
Two of the children are said to be in a serious but stable condition, while the man is still in intensive care in Cork University Hospital.
His partner is said to be in a stable condition. One child was discharged from hospital yesterday.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
