Gardaí are appealing for witnesses in relation to an assault that occurred in Navan, Co Meath, yesterday.
A 21-year-old man was seriously injured during the incident at Knockcommon, Beauparc, Navan, last night and suffered apparent stab wounds, gardaí said.
The man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where his condition has been described as stable but serious.
A red Volkswagon Passat 00 G reg, was discovered a short distance from where the incident occurred. It was partially submerged in shallow water.
Gardaí said no arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
