The Army Bomb Disposal Team made safe two viable IEDs at a derelict house near Cavan town last night.
The IEDs were found at a derelict house in the Aughnaskerry area on the outskirts of the town.
Gardaí requested support from the Army bomb disposal team, which was deployed and arrived at the scene at 8.45pm.
After an examination, the devices were found to be viable igniferous IEDs.
They were made safe at the scene and removed to a military location for further examination.
The scene was declared safe at 10.40pm.
