A man has been arrested in Co Tyrone in connection with the murder of David Byrne at the Regency Hotel in Dublin.

Mr Byrne was killed as he attended a boxing weigh-in at the hotel in February.

A 46-year-old man, arrested on foot of a European Arrest Warrant in Strabane today, is to appear before a court in Belfast tomorrow.

He will be the seventh person to be brought before the courts in connection with the attack, which escalated a feud between the Hutch and Kinahan gangs.

He was arrested at the home he shares with his mother in Strabane by PSNI officers.
He moved to Northern Ireland following the Regency Hotel attack but the garda investigation into him continued.
Two files were sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, who decided there was sufficient evidence for him to be charged.
Thirteen people have so far been arrested in connection with the attack at the Regency.
