More than €100,000 in cash has been seized by gardaí after a truck was stopped and searched on the M50 in Dublin.
Gardaí attached to the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, assisted by the newly formed Special Crime Task Force, stopped and searched a truck at the M50 roundabout, at Junction 4, shortly before midnight last night.
The operation was part of ongoing investigations targeting serious criminal activity in the Dublin region.
During the search, gardaí found a significant amount of cash concealed in the vehicle - estimated at being in excess of €100,000.
A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
He was held at Ballymun Garda Station but has since been released without charge.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
