An elderly man has been injured during an aggravated burglary at his home in north Dublin in the early hours of Friday morning.

Three men, armed with weapons, broke into a house at Kettles Lane in Swords between 3am and 4am.

They demanded money and attacked the home owner, a man in his early 80s. 

He was not seriously injured.

The men were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas and escaped with a small amount of money. 

Gardaí said two of the men spoke with Dublin accents.
