A man has died following an incident on Carrauntoohill in Co Kerry yesterday.
Gardaí said the man’s body was recovered by Kerry Mountain Rescue from Carrauntoohil mountain around 8pm.
A person out walking reported having seen somebody falling at the northern face of Carrauntoohill at around 2pm yesterday afternoon.
Kerry Mountain Rescue responded, and passed it on to the Shannon-based Coastguard helicopter.
The helicopter identified where the fallen walker was, but was unable to reach him.
It met the Mountain Rescue team at Hag's Glen and brought them up nearer to where the man had fallen, where a recovery operation took place.
