A man has been arrested after cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €500,000 was seized in Dublin.
Gardaí discovered the plants during a search of a house in Shankill, Co Dublin yesterday.
700 cannabis plants were found growing in the basement and a further 400 on the ground floor.
The man, who is in his 30s, is being held at Shankill Garda Station.
Elsewhere, gardaí investigating criminal activity in Dublin have seized €350,000 in cash and arrested three men in their 40s.
The arrests were made after gardaí stopped a number of vehicles on the M1 motorway north of Swords in Co Dublin yesterday evening.
The cash was contained in vacuum packs, in a holdall. Follow-up searches were conducted in a number of areas.
A vacuum packing machine and associated equipment were recovered in Tallaght, while hypnotic drugs with a street value of €10,000 were seized in Baileboro, Co Cavan.
Two of the men have been released, and files are to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The third man remains in custody at Swords Garda Station.
