A man has been arrested after 3kgs of cocaine was found in a van in Clondalkin yesterday.

The van was stopped and searched during an operation by gardaí from Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.

Cocaine worth €210,000 discovered and the 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

He was taken to Clondalkin Garda Station and is due to appear in court tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Kildare seized cocaine and cannabis herb with an estimated value of €34,000 this morning.

The seizure of cocaine worth €14,000 and cannabis herb worth €20,000 occurred following the planned search of a premises at Lower Belan, Moone, Co Kildare, shortly after midnight.

A quantity of ammunition was also seized. The search was carried out by Athy gardaí, assisted by the Kildare District Drugs Unit and Athy Traffic Corps.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Kildare Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
