The family of a Tyrone man murdered 25 years ago in Co Kildare has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Des Fox was killed near Prosperous in Co Kildare in 1990.

The Dungannon bookmaker was attacked at Healy's Bridge on 30 September 1990 as he was on his way to the Curragh Races.

The 47-year-old father of three was robbed of €20,000, shot in the leg and bled to death.

Those responsible have never been caught.

Mr Fox was also chairman of his local GAA club Edendork and today 100 club members are cycling back to Co Tyrone from the place where he died in his memory.

They hope that someone may come forward with information about the murder. His family also hope that this reminder might stir somebody's conscience.
