A man has been found dead in water at a golf club in Co Cork.
Ground staff at the Lee Valley Golf club found the body of the golfer in a man-made lake at the 12th hole.
The man, who was in his mid to late 60s, had been golfing on his own and had set out just after 8am.
He had been a member of the club for more than eight years.
Owner David Keohane said they immediately alerted the emergency services, and closed the course as a mark of respect.
The large lake is a feature of the championship golf course's par three 12th hole.
Gardaí are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination but for now they are treating the death as a tragic accident.
The Health and Safety Authority has been notified.
