Three fishermen were rescued from a sinking trawler in Kinsale harbour, Co Cork, this evening.
The Sean Anthony grounded as it entered Kinsale harbour at around six o'clock and began sinking.
Weather conditions at the time were described as appalling.
The Kinsale RNLI lifeboat was at the scene within five minutes of the alarm being raised and all three men, who are Portuguese nationals, were rescued from the water and brought ashore.
The crew are said to be uninjured but shaken after their ordeal.
The Sean Anthony, which is a 20-metre beam trawler, is registered in Skibbereen.
It set out to sea from Kinsale last Thursday and was returning home this evening when it got into difficulties.
