Tributes have been paid to an Irishman who died in a workplace incident in Australia earlier this month.
Paul Walsh, originally from Co Sligo, was fatally injured while working on a broadband installation in the town of Katoomba in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales on Friday 1 April.
In a statement on its Facebook page, Sligo GAA club Tourlestrane offered its condolences to Mr Walsh’s family.
It said: "Paul was a valued member and player with our club, playing at corner back before emigrating to Australia.
"The club would like to offer sincere condolences to his mother Elizabeth, brother John and all of the extended Walsh and Gilmartin families, neighbours and friends".
Mr Walsh was working as a contractor for a delivery partner of telecommunications company nbn.
nbn Chief Executive Bill Morrow expressed his sadness at the "tragic news" and said the thoughts of everyone at nbn "are with the family, friends and colleagues" of Mr Walsh.
