Broadcaster Gay Byrne is being treated in hospital after having a heart attack.
Mr Byrne, 81, was admitted to hospital yesterday.
Mr Byrne said: I'm feeling better and on the road to recovery. Thanks to all for the well wishes".
In a statement, RTÉ said he was recovering well.
"All his friends and colleagues across RTÉ are thinking of him and wish him all the best with his recovery," the statement added.
The Byrne family has asked for privacy.
Mr Byrne became a household name during his long tenure as host of 'The Late Late Show'.
He has also enjoyed a distinguished radio career and continues to present a weekly show on RTÉ lyric fm, 'Sunday with Gay Byrne.'
He also presents 'The Meaning of Life' television series on RTÉ One.
