A search is continuing off the Kerry coast for a missing fisherman, who is thought to have fallen from a Spanish fishing trawler yesterday afternoon.

Crews from the LÉ Aisling and a Spanish fishing vessel are looking for the man, who is believed to have fallen into the water around 40 nautical miles west of Valentia.

He was last seen at about 4.20pm yesterday.

The Shannon-based Coast Guard rescue helicopter rejoined the search this morning.

It was forced to leave the area last night due to poor visibility.
