A three-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital following an incident at a swimming pool in Cork earlier today.
It happened shortly before 2pm at the Quality Hotel in Redbarn, Youghal.
The little boy, who was on holidays with his family, was taken from the water by two lifeguards who administered CPR before he was airlifted to Cork University Hospital by the Waterford-based Coast Guard helicopter.
He was transferred to Children's University Hospital, Temple Street in Dublin this evening.
A doctor who had been called to the hotel travelled with the boy to the hospital in Cork.
