A 51-year-old man has died following a shooting incident in Co Limerick.
The shooting happened around 3pm this afternoon at a motorcycle club located at Mountfune, a rural area outside the village of Murroe.
The scene has been sealed off and gardaí have launched a murder investigation.
Gardaí believe a number of individuals were at the club when a man approached another man and at least one shot was fired.
A man received an injury to his head and was rushed to University Hospital Limerick, where he received emergency treatment, but was pronounced dead around 5pm.
They are interviewing witnesses and are appealing for anyone who saw what happened, or has information about the incident, to contact them at Bruff Garda station on 061-382940, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
It is understood the victim was from the locality.
Gardaí said it is too early to say what the motive for the fatal shooting may have been, and they are investigating a number of lines of inquiry, however, they do not believe it has any gangland connections.
