Dubliner Maria McCambridge has won the VHI Dublin Mini Marathon in a time of 34 minutes and 3 seconds.

Around 40,000 women took part in today's annual race in Dublin.

It is the largest female-only event of its kind in the world.

A number of road closures and traffic diversions are in place for the event, which got under way at 2pm.

Earlier, The Cork City Marathon was staged on Leeside, where victory went to Cork man Cillian O'Leary in the men's race and Cork woman Nollaig Hunter in the women's race.

Over 7,000 runners took part in the race.
