A man has been arrested after three gardaí were slashed during a drug search in Co Louth this morning.
The gardaí were also attacked by a dog during the incident which happened in the townland of Sandpit, between Termonfeckin and Drogheda, at around 10am.
Gardaí arrived at a house in the townland with a drugs warrant to carry out a search.
However, it appears they were attacked with a knife and a pitbull was set on them.
Two of the gardaí received cuts and two of them were also bitten.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene. He is being held at Drogheda Garda Station.
A small quantity of cannabis was also found at the scene.
The three gardaí were treated for their injuries at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, but they have since been discharged.
