A 17-year-old boy has been injured in a shooting incident in Limerick city.
The teenager was found with gunshot wounds to his leg shortly before 11am.
It is understood the shooting took place near old railway lines in Janesboro at about 10.10am.
The victim, who is from the Garryowen area and known to gardaí, managed to make his way to Lower Carey's Road, where he collapsed on a footpath.
Paramedics were called and treated the teenager at the scene.
He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
His injuries are not life-threatening.
Gardaí at Roxboro are investigating and detectives are viewing CCTV footage of the area while house-to-house inquiries are also under way.
