Musician Dolores O'Riordan has now been released from hospital in Limerick and released from garda custody.
The Cranberries singer had been arrested early this morning at Shannon Airport, following an incident on board a flight from New York, in which a cabin crew member was allegedly assaulted.
She is also alleged to have assaulted a garda as he tried to arrest her.
She was questioned for a short time at Shannon Garda Station, but was then brought to hospital in Limerick after being medically assessed by a doctor at the garda station.
Gardaí have confirmed that she has now been released from custody, and they are continuing their investigations into the incident.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions who will decide at a later date if Ms O’Riordan will face charges in court.
