Gardaí say they are not treating the discovery of a man's body in a river in Co Donegal as suspicious.

The discovery was made yesterday afternoon in a river near Bridgend on the Inishowen peninsula.

The man's body was removed to Letterkenny General Hospital where a post-mortem examination was carried out.

The body was found close to where searches recently took place for missing Derry man Stephen McCloskey.

Mr McCloskey, 33, went missing two weeks ago from his sister's home in Derry and his family had issued an appeal for his safe return.

His vehicle was found abandoned near Burt in Co Donegal.
