A man has been taken to hospital after he fell overboard from a ferry.

It is understood he was a passenger on the Oscar Wilde ferry when he was reported overboard shortly after 6pm.

The ferry was less than an hour out of Rosslare Harbour when the incident occurred.

The man was recovered from the water and taken back to Rosslare Harbour.

He has been taken to Wexford General Hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident, a man in his 20s was airlifted to hospital after he fell while climbing on Bray Head.

He was climbing on the Greystones side of Bray Head with a group of friends when the incident happened at around 4pm.

The man was taken to Beaumount Hospital in Dublin where he is being treated for head and back injuries.

Irish Rail services were suspended between Bray and Greystones for a time this afternoon while emergency services attended at the scene. 

All services have since returned to normal.
