A car stolen from the home of Minister for Communications Alex White has been recovered along with a spare key to another car.

The minister's home in Terenure was broken into between 11pm Thursday night and 7am Friday morning.

The thief, or thieves, got into the house through an open skylight and stole an iMac, an iPad, a brief case with State papers, the spare keys to an Audi and a Ford Fusion car parked outside.

Gardaí searched a house in Crumlin and recovered the car parked outside and the spare key of the Audi in the hedge.

No arrests have been made and the garda investigation is continuing.

A spokesman for the minister said there were no sensitive State papers in the brief case that was stolen.

She said the minister believes this was an opportunistic burglar and that he would like to put the matter behind him.
