A suspect device has been disarmed by the army bomb disposal team in Drimnagh, Dublin.

The device was found outside a house in a residential area of Drimnagh, near Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital.

A number of nearby houses were evacuated and road closures were put in place.

The device was identified as a viable explosive device and was made safe at the scene without the need for a controlled explosion.

Gardaí are investigating the incident and the scene has been declared safe.
