A new national opinion poll shows no evidence of a "bounce back" by the two Government parties with just days left in the Local, European and two by-election campaigns.

The latest Red C poll for the Irish Sun is based on a nationwide sample of just over 1,000 people and was conducted between 12-14 May.

When 'Undecided' voters - standing at 13% are excluded - the results, compared to the last Red C poll (for the Sunday Business Post) on 4 May are:

Fine Gael 25%; no change

Labour 8%; down 3

Fianna Fáil 20%; down 1

Sinn Féin 20%; up 2

Independents/ Others 27%; up 2

A second "state of the parties" national poll will also be published by the Irish Independent/Millward Brown tomorrow.
