Gardaí are continuing their search in Cavan today for two Dublin men who were last seen on Tuesday.

Gardaí say they are "keeping an open mind" and are exploring "every avenue" in the investigation.

The focus of the search is once again the Ballyjamesduff area, where Anthony Keegan and Eoin O'Connor are understood to have gone before they went missing.

It is believed the disappearance of the two men is connected to the activities of a criminal gang.

Yesterday, gardaí said there were no signs of a struggle or traces of blood in a car that the men had been using.

It was found at a popular viewing spot overlooking Lough Owel on the N4 near Mullingar in Co Westmeath.

A search of the lake was concluded on Friday.

Mr O'Connor, 32, and Mr Keegan, 33, were reported missing at Mountjoy and Santry Garda Stations by their families.

Mr O'Connor is described as being 1.83m (6') tall, of stocky build with short brown hair and blue eyes.

When last seen he was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a blue windbreaker-type jacket with a hood.

Mr Keegan is described as being 1.78m (5'10'') tall, of medium build with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Gardaí have once again appealed to anyone with information to contact them.
