A small crowd gathered in Ennis Courthouse this morning in support of jailed activist Margaretta D'Arcy, who was today presented with an amended charge sheet.

D'Arcy was sentenced to three months in prison last month on charges of trespassing on private areas of Shannon Airport when protesting the US military's use of the airport.

An incorrect section of the law was quoted on the original arrest and Judge Patrick Durcan ordered that the amended charge be issued immediately, which was done.

She is due to appear before the court again on 11 March.
