The cost of the Priory Hall evacuation has now reached almost €3.8m according to figures released by Dublin City Council.
Although a deal has been reached with owners of apartments at the site the council is still providing security until a refurbishment plan begins.
The council has spent €1.5m to date on security and nearly €500,000 on engineering and surveys.
The cost of providing temporary accommodation for the residents has totalled €1.5m but most of this has been reimbursed by the Department of the Environment.
Legal fees have cost nearly €100,000.
The figures were given in a report to councillors querying the continuing cost of Priory Hall.
