A murder investigation is under way after the death of a woman in Co Mayo.
The body of Sarah Staunton, a 28-year-old mother-of-two, was found in a house outside the village of Balla yesterday afternoon.
Assistant State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis conducted a preliminary post-mortem examination at the scene last night.
A full post-mortem examination was carried out at Mayo General Hospital today.
Gardaí arrested a man in his early-20s last night in the Castlebar area. He was detained overnight and questioning resumed this morning.
Gardaí say they are not releasing the cause of death for operational reasons.
