A 29-year-old man has appeared in court charged in relation to the false imprisonment of three people in Co Louth in 2011.

Mark McCarthy, of Elm Dale Crescent, Ballyfermot in Dublin, appeared before Dundalk District Court today to face four charges.

He is accused of the false imprisonment of Warren Nawn, Jean Marie Matthews and a child between 1 and 2 August 2011.
