Minister for Health James Reilly has said he believes the new National Children's Hospital can be built by 2018.

He said he did not believe this time there would be a refusal for planning permission from An Bord Pleanala.

The aim is to secure planning permission by December 2014.

It was announced that Eilish Hardiman has been selected as Chief Executive of the Children's Hospital Group, which will oversee the operational integration of the three hospitals in advance of the move to the site at St James's Hospital.
