Synthetic drugs worth up to €175,000 have been seized at Dublin Airport.

Officers of Revenue's Customs Service discovered around 5kg of the drug 4-Methylethcathinione (4-Mec).

The drugs arrived from China and were described as "silicon and rubber products".

Authorities said the drugs were destined for an address in Ballymount Industrial Estate in Dublin.
