Our Lady's Children's Hospital in Crumlin in Dublin has said that no child was affected by a recent incident involving a contaminated colonoscope.

It said that following recent tests, all families affected have been informed of the outcome.

In July, Extended Spectrum Beta Lactamase bacteria were found on one of the hospital's colonoscopies during routine sterilisation.

The device had been used on seven children.
