The death has taken place of High Court judge Mr Justice Kevin Feeney.
He died in Ballycotton in Co Cork.
Mr Justice Feeney chaired the Referendum Commission last year and also managed the Criminal Asset Bureau case list.
Called to the bar in 1973, he was educated at Gonzaga College and was a graduate of UCD and the King's Inns.
Mr Justice Feeney was appointed to the High Court in 2006.
