A 37-year-old man has pleaded guilty to four murders in Co Limerick in 2010.
John Geary of Meadow Court, Newcastle West, admitted murdering his former partner, her two children and a 20-year-old woman at a house in Newcastle West on 15 November, 2010.
The sentence hearing has been adjourned until 8 July.
Geary was brought to the Central Criminal Court today to face four charges of murder, but when he was arraigned he pleaded guilty to each murder.
The bodies of Sarah Hines, their five-month-old daughter Amy, three-year-old boy Reece and Ms Hines' friend Alicia Brough were found at a house in Hazelgrove in 2010.
All four had been stabbed to death.
Geary was arrested and charged with their murders the following day.
Mr Justice Paul Carney adjourned the case until July, when the evidence and victim impact statements will be heard.
Geary faces the mandatory sentence of life in prison for the murders.
