Two people have died in separate collisions in Co Kerry over the last 24 hours.

A woman motorcyclist died in a crash at Pike Hill two kilometres from Killarney on the main Cork Road just before 5.30pm.

The woman from west Cork who was in her 50s is believed to have been attending a Harvey Davison motorcycle event in the town this weekend.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Separately, a man in his 30s died in hospital after being injured in a single-vehicle road crash shortly before 8pm at Lahard near the village Beaufort, about 10km from Killarney.

The man was the only occupant of a four-wheel drive vehicle, which hit a tree.

Gardaí investigating a fatal crash in Ballycullane near Athy in Co Kildare yesterday have also appealed for witnesses.

Anyone who was travelling on the link road from Athy to the M9 between 1.30pm and 3pm yesterday who may able to assist with the investigation is asked to contact Athy Garda Station on 059-8634210.
