Two men have been arrested after two premises were burgled and set on fire in New Ross, Co Wexford.

The constituency office of Government Chief Whip and Minister of State Paul Kehoe was damaged.

The office of Martin Lawlor, a solicitor in the town and one of the main Fine Gael party organisers in the area, was also attacked. 

Two men were arrested following the incidents, which happened at around 3am on 10 May.

Gardaí say they have not uncovered any specific motive for the attacks.

Superintendent Aidan Brennan of New Ross Garda Station says they are seeking witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in the town from 3am.

The appeal is in relation to the arson attacks and acts of criminal damage to a number of cars.
