Australian media has reported that a man has pleaded guilty to the murder of Irish backpacker David Greene at a Melbourne boarding house last year.

Mr Greene died one month after he was attacked in August at a boarding house in the St Kilda area of the city.

Luke James Wentholt, 31, appeared via video link from prison and pleaded guilty to the murder of and one count of recklessly causing serious injury to another Irish backpacker, David Byas.
