Two men are being questioned in relation to the seizure of drugs worth almost €2 million.

A van and car were stopped by members of the Garda National Drugs Unit along with officers from the Organised Crime Unit at Castlewarden, Co Kildare, yesterday afternoon.

Cannabis with an estimated street value of €600,000 was discovered during a search of the two vehicles.

Three men, aged 31,40 and 50, were arrested at the scene. One of the men has since been released.

During a follow-up search of a business premises in Cookstown, Tallaght in Dublin, cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.2m was seized.

The men are being held at Clondalkin Garda Station.
