Computer giant Microsoft has launched a new initiative aimed at 'upskilling' young people who are out of work.

The Youth2Work programme offers a range of courses, including mobile technology, cloud computing and gaming.

The programme is targeted at 18-25 year-olds, giving them information, work experience, and interview and CV development support.

People can register their interest at www.microsoft.ie.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who attended today's launch, has welcomed the announcement.

He said it is a great opportunity for young people who are anxious to acquire new skills and to kickstart their careers.
