Two men have been charged in connection with the burglary of more than €100,000 from a house at Kanturk, Co Cork.
Malcolm Kelly, 26, and Ger Ryan, 30, were both charged with entering a house in Kanturk as trespassers and committing a theft.
It is alleged that Mr Kelly, from Coolageela, Kanturk, and Mr Ryan, from Park View, Charleville, committed the offence between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Judge Tim Lucey remanded both men in custody and they are due to be brought before Mallow District Court next Tuesday.
Both men will be legally represented through the State's legal aid scheme.
The two were arrested after gardaí seized €50,000 from a hotel room safe in Cork after being called to deal with a number of unruly guests at the nearby Silver Springs Moran Hotel.
Gardaí searched the room and recovered the money from the safe.
Another €15,000 was recovered later on the Lower Glanmire Road in Cork.
More cash was seized elsewhere in the city this morning.
A woman arrested on Monday has since been released without charge.
Gardaí are warning people not to keep large amounts of cash in their homes and businesses, following a number of raids in recent weeks.
