A search has resumed for a diver who has been missing off the southwest coast since earlier this week.

Reinhardt Teschke, a 54-year-old German, was one of a three-man team diving on a wreck south of Baltimore in Co Cork.

The alarm was raised when he failed to return to the surface on Tuesday evening.

A Naval Service dive team is to join the search today.

The RNLI lifeboats from Baltimore and Courtmacsherry, the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter and the naval vessel LÉ Ciara were involved in the search yesterday, which was co-ordinated by the Valentia Coast Guard.
