The Garda Ombudsman's office is appealing for witnesses after a man died after being arrested in Co Mayo.
Gardaí were called to an incident at a late bar in Castlebar at about 1am.
Paraic O'Donnell, 39, from Achill Sound in Co Mayo, was arrested at Cox's and was taken away by gardaí in a car, and subsequently died.
A post mortem was due to be carried out on the body of the unmarried father-of-one this afternoon.
The scene around the bar and the area around Castlebar Garda Station had also been sealed off.
The incident was referred to the ombudsman's office early this morning, and the office is now investigating.
