Martin McDermott, the prisoner who escaped from Loughan House prison in Co Cavan in March, has been extradited from the North.
McDermott was serving a seven-year sentence for killing Garda Gary McLoughlin, who was struck by a speeding car McDermott was driving.
McDermott was arrested in Derry shortly after his escape.
He was sentenced to four months in prison there for assaulting PSNI officers and resisting arrest. He will now serve the remainder of his manslaughter sentence in the Republic.
