Police in Venezuela suspect that an Irishman who died there may have been ingesting drugs.
The man, who was in his 30s and from Boyle in Co Roscommon, died in a hotel room in the capital, Caracas.
He is suspected of trying to swallow or internally conceal condoms containing cocaine.
Two other Irishmen who were travelling with him are due in court charged with drugs offences.
The Department of Foreign Affairs says it is offering assistance to the dead man's family.
An official from the Irish embassy in Mexico has travelled to Venezuela.
