Tourism Ireland has unveiled plans for what it said will be the largest-ever global St Patrick's Day celebrations.
As part of the organisation’s initiative, some of the world's most famous sights will go green for the day.
As well as the London Eye, Table Mountain in South Africa and the Empire State Building in New York; Niagara Falls and the TV Tower in Berlin will go green for the first time ever.
Over 70 million people around the world claim links with the island of Ireland and Tourism Ireland said St Patrick's Day is an unique opportunity to reconnect them with their heritage and showcase Irish tourism.
Last year the semi-State body said 7.4 million overseas visitors came to the island of Ireland, up 7% on 2010 and delivered revenue of €3.5bn.
