A 57-year-old solicitor has been sent forward for trial to the Circuit Court in Limerick on a charge of deception.
Denis McMahon, of Pembroke Road in Dublin, is accused of inducing a woman by deception to hand over a bank draft for €7,500, with the intention of making a gain for himself or others.
The offence is alleged to have happened at the offices of McMahon, O'Brien Downes Solicitors at Henry St in Limerick, in November 2002.
Mr McMahon was handed the book of evidence in the matter at the District Court in Limerick today.
Judge Tim Lucey sent him forward for trial to the next sitting of the Circuit Court in Limerick.
